April 22 Birthdays – Glen Campbell

Glen Campbell was born in Billstown, Arkansas on April 22, 1936. By 1958, Glen had started a band named the Western Wranglers, and by 1961 had released his first single “Turn Around, Look at Me.”

Campbell’s hits include “Universal Soldier”, “Gentle on My Mind”, “By the Time I Get to Phoenix”, “Wichita Lineman”, “Rhinestone Cowboy” and “Southern Nights”.

Glen Campbell passes away in 2017, at the age of 81, following his long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
