Brookville Graduate Promoted to U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class

SHALIMAR, Fla. – Navy Information Systems Technician 1st Class Daniel Johns, left, a Brookville High School graduate and native of Brookville, Ohio, was promoted to Petty Officer 1st Class serving with Commander, Navy Region Southeast (CNRSE) Regional Operational Center.

IT specialists in the Navy have a vital job of making sure that the network administration, databases, computers and software are operational ready all year round.

As one of the sharpest IT’s in his command, Johns, has helped his command become operational ready through his knowledge and expertise, and has actively supported the active duty component through watch standing duties and exercises.

Johns is the Unit Training Lead Petty Officer for CNRSE Regional Operational Center that has motivated, and administered a training program for his peers that has led to his unit being 97% completed on all required Navy training. His advancement is a great reflection of his excellent innovative and leadership skills.

Located aboard Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida, CNRSE is the regional commander and immediate superior in command, and manages and oversees shore installation management support and execution for 15 installations within the Southeastern United States and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
